Use an HSDPA 3G USB adapter with the Asus Transformer TF101

       823 words, 4 minutes

My Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is quite nice to take on a ride. The only issue is that when there’s no WiFi around, there’s no Internet at all. I used to have a Novatel MiFi 2352 3G hotspot but it died. All I have left is a data-only SIM card and an Huawei E220 USB modem. By default, even with the dock keyboard, plugin the HSDPA USB adapter into the Transformer won’t lead far. But since I can root the Pad and install an alternate ROM, there are every likelihood that I can manage to access Internet via the 3G modem.

Here’s the way I understood the Microsoft documentation. It may enable you to understand and decide which licenses to use in your particular case. I’m writing it with VMware vSphere implementation in mind, but it should apply to apply virtualization technology.

Installing ICYBOX IB-RD2262 USEb on a MacBook Pro

       329 words, 2 minutes

I got an ICYBOX IB-RD2262USEb RAID Enclosure for 2.5" HDDs to plug some of my spare SATA disks into my Mac. This enclosure has two main benefits. It enables me to plug my external 2.5" disks using Firewire-800, which is faster and less CPU consuming than USB2, and it enables me to plug the two disks using a single cable. Another nice feature is that is also has an eSATA plug so that I may later connect it to my Synology.
