Most of my iTunes music is in mp3 format. Mostly because I dumped my CDs far before using iTunes. Far before using Mac OS X in fact… Anyway… I remember I used to use my mp3 files as ring tone when I used a Nokia 5310 XpressMusic. And that was quite easy to do. Something like, going to ring preferences and selecting the mp3 files. But with the iPhone, it is just not possible. Or at least, it is not possible straight away. This is how I did it.

Pourraient-ils éteindre Internet ?

C’est la révolution les ami(e)s ! Comme l’a dit notre grand porteur d’espoir timbré : “(…) Je milite depuis l’âge de 14 - 15 piges. J’me réclame des idées de la révolution et c’est la première fois que je vois ça, j’allais dire, en direct live. Moi, jusqu’à maintenant je militais dans un monde sans révolution. (…)”. Mais chut, il ne faut pas que ça se sache. Alors, la population n’aurait plus accès à Internet (pour poster sur YouTube, Facebook ou Twitter), les téléphones portables seraient coupés, et les journalistes interdit de séjour.

WordPress, HungryFEED and (french) accented words.

Last time I moved my (WordPress) Web site, I started from scratch ; mostly because I did a lot of testings on the previous instance. Anyway… On the “News” page, I use the HungryFEED plugin to aggregate on a single page the few RSS feeds I daily read. Some are written in English and some are French. Since I moved the WP instance, the accented words were messy.

SOGo: backend on Debian, Web frontend on NetBSD

Learn more about SOGo here . Quickly sumed up, SOGo is a kind of middleware that will provide Web, CalDAV and CardDAV access to you e-mail and web clients. You can check my NetBSD and OpenBSD articles to see how to build the backend Mail/Directory/SQL services. Once this is done, you can plug SOGo on to this architecture and provide E-Mail, Calendar, AddressBook to your users via mobile phones and mail clients. I’ll describe here how to setup the sogod backend onto Debian GNU/Linux and the Web frontend onto NetBSD.

Mais bon, on dit tous “j’ai plus rien dans mon frigo”… Le flashcode, c’est une image représentant des informations ; de la même manière qu’un code-barre au dos d’un paquet de céréales.
